Tune In for Baseball Tournament Webcast Thursday, May 15th

You can follow the third seed Catawba Indians (40-16) in the NCAA South Regional from Tampa, Florida on Memories 1280 WSAT and by logging on to the webcast on gocatawbaindians.com with their first game against fourth seeded Florida Tech (35-18-1) at 7 pm Thursday, May 15th. Listen to the Voice of the Indians, Buddy Poole, as he follows the Tribe baseballers through the double elimination tournament being held on the campus of the top seed in the South, Tampa University.

Thursday Game Time For Baseball Regional Set For 7 p.m.

SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College will play under the lights for its first game of the 2008 NCAA II South Region Tournament.  Game times were officially announced on Monday and the 17th-ranked Indians, seeded third, will face fourth-seeded Florida Tech at 7 p.m.  Live stats of all games will be provided through the University of Tampa website and the Catawba games will be available on WSAT Radio and over the internet.

Baseball Receives Bid to NCAA II South Region Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Catawba College was one of 48 teams named to the field for the 2008 NCAA II Baseball Tournament.  Catawba (40-16) received one of three at-large bids and will face Florida Tech (35-18-1) in its opening game of the South Region Tournament.  The tournament will be hosted by the University of Tampa and will runs May 15-18.

#19 Baseball Gets to 40 Wins, Marks #400 For Coach Jim Gantt

SALISBURY, NC -- Catawba College hit five home runs and closed out its regular season with an 11-5 win over visiting Erskine in baseball action on Friday afternoon at Newman Park.  The win was the 400th career victory for Catawba Head Coach Jim Gantt.  The 19th-ranked Catawba Indians improve to 40-16 and will await an at-large bid to the NCAA II South Region Tournament on Sunday.  The Flying Fleet, also ranked 19th, falls to 44-11.
